How to create a Learning Agreement for Exchange
Once you are selected to go on exchange you will be nominated to the partner institution. You will now need to plan which subjects you want to follow at the partner, this needs to be included in a Learning Agreement, which needs to be approved by both BUas and the partner.
This LA can be drawn up in Osiris and submitted, after approval by BUas it will be sent to the partner for approval or you can download a copy to be sent to the partner.
Go to Osiris Student > Stay Abroad Request > Learning Agreement
Click on [+], to create a new Learning Agreement
A new Learning Agreement will be opened
Dates are copied from the request. They can be changed here if necessary, if they are correct, continue by clicking on the arrow.
Fill out the Learning Agreement - Language of instruction
- Choose the main language of instruction
- Choose the right level of language competence
- On the right side of the screen you see a summary of your actions, if you made a mistake or want to change something you can click on edit
- Once you have added language and level, you can continue by clicking on the arrow
Recognition at the sending institution (BUas) what part of exam programme will be replaced by the subjects abroad

Choose the right exchange period / year you will be going on exchange. Please select one option and continue by clicking on the arrow
Not seeing any options can be possible as a consequence of different reasons, please contact the academy. You can continue and save the information already filled out (without submitting), so that you can edit the LA later
Add components = subjects you will follow at the partner
Adding components
Click on add component. Fill out the information of the subjects that you are going to follow at partner institution. The partner will inform you where you can find this. Click on [Add]
- Choose [add component].
- Fill out the information of the subjects that you are going to follow at partner institution. The partner will inform you where you can find this. 'Title' is mandatory, 'Code' can be left empty when it is not in the information provided by the partner.
- Choose the right type, this is 'regular'
- fill out number of ECTS that can be obtained when followed (check information provided by partner)
- Choose the correct semester which you will be spending at the exchange partner. Fall = semester 1 / spring = semester 2
- [Add]
Add all courses (subjects) you are going to follow
Repeat step 1-6 (adding up to a minimum of 30 credits) until you have added all subjects, adding up to the right amount of credits.
When complete you can continue by clicking on the arrow
Fill out contact and approval at partner university

Here you can enter the details of the contact person for the Learning Agreement. Given names, Surname and Email address are mandatory. If you are unsure who this is please reach out to the partner.
Continue by clicking on the arrow.
Saving and submitting your Learning Agreement

Make sure to check everything before you submit your learning agreement. An overview of all the details filled out can be found on the right side of your screen.
You can save your LA if you still need to find some information or want to finalize it later.
You need to submit it to have the academic exchange coordinator check the LA and approve it.
Click [SUBMIT]
Status Learning Agreement
To see if you submitted your learning agreement you can go back to the first screen.
If you see 'Submitted' it is up to academic coordinator to take action. You can click on it to see an overview of all information filled out. You can not change anything at this point. You need to wait until approved or rejected, if you really want to make changes - ask the international coordinator.
